Planoles has its own Mediterranean high mountain climate, characterized by sun and humidity. The area has two well differentiated parts one in the shade and another in the sun that gives the municipality a great wealth. The municipality is very well connected, an hour and a half from Barcelona and Girona by car, it has R3 line train service and fiber optic. Planoles is a very active and dynamic town with a lot of associative fabric.
