The vice president of the Lleida Provincial Council, Agustí Jiménez, accompanied by the director of the area, Víctor Peguera, participated in the presentation of the Local Housing Office of La Segarra, an organization that is part of the La Segarra Regional Council and that aims to activate the housing market through the promotion of houses in small municipalities.
During the presentation, the first vice-president explained the three lines of subsidies in the demographic challenge area, which aim to boost repopulation. In this regard, the head of the Municipal and Regional Cooperation and New Technologies areas, highlighted that work is being done to increase the amount of line 2, the amount that addresses the demographic challenge through the hiring of technicians. “This increase will provide continuity to the technicians subsidized during the last year and will allow more to be hired for the territory, reaffirming once again the commitment of the Lleida Provincial Council to the demographic challenge”, explained Jiménez.
The first vice president stated that “to support the rural world, a very deep knowledge of the reality of each territory is needed, and it is important to provide technicians who design policies to face the demographic challenge.”
On the other hand, Jiménez emphasized the first line of the demographic challenge area, which promotes and incentivizes the availability of housing in municipalities with the highest risk of depopulation. He also explained line 3, which subsidizes projects and actions by opening up new employment options.
During the meeting, different housing projects carried out by the Local Housing Office of La Segarra were explained. Currently, the office has subsidies for rehabilitation works or improvements to accessibility and also provides advice on improving energy efficiency in housing.
