The Associacion for the Management of the Ripollès Ges Bisaura Leader Program operates in the Ripollès county and includes eight municipalities in the north of the Osona county, the Ges valley, Orís and Bisaura territories.
This rural and mountainous territory extends through the Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenean and the Transversal Ridge and is structured around the upper Ter valley. The northern area, more mountainous and with higher slopes, contrasts with the Pre-Pyrenean area of the southern half, which is much flatter. This transition provides diverse and valuable natural resources and landscapes.
The primary sector produces a wide range of goods. In Ripollès, livestock farming is prominent. Industrial businesses are also noticeable as well as tourism, which has a long standing tradition in the Pyrenees valley and rest of surrounding territories. There is a steady flow of businesses, which focus on natural and cultural heritage.
