The Local Noguera-Segrià Nord Assotiation Consortium Group operates in La Noguera and in six municipalities in the north of the Segrià region. This territorial area is divided into two distinct parts: the north, with the Montsec at the gates of the Pre-Pyrenean, and the southern plain, occupied by farmland, orchard and dry land in which crops of fruit trees and grow.
The most important economic sectors include agriculture, expanding due to irrigation infrastructure, and tourism, which has many possibilities, especially those linked to the natural and scenic heritage of Montsec, and its sky, which has been certified as ” Reserve Starlight “.
The territory also has the peculiarity of bordering with the provincial capital and its area of influence, and of being very close to transport systems such as the Lleida – Pirineum AVE station and the Alguaire airport. Another factor that can have effects on the possibilities of dynamization is the high rate of aging and an important depopulation index in certain population centers that particularly affects younger age groups, and especially, the most talented and trained young people, motivated largely by the opportunities offered by the city.
