The project
Within the framework of the Rural Development Program of Catalonia 2014-2020, our rural territory is organized into 11 Local Action Groups (LAGs) that cooperate to carry out projects for the social and economic development of said territory.
Among them, is the Odisseu Project, aimed to promote the return of young talent to the rural world and one of its purposes is this tool that we present to you.
Viure a rural (Rural living) wants to facilitate access to the resources and services found in the Leader rural municipalities of Catalonia. Through this website, basic, useful and up-to-date information is provided about the resources of these very diverse territories that have rural identities in common.
We are aware of European experiences that have secured a referencing or welcoming space for these territories, making them more accessible especially to non natives.
We have created this tool for those who may need it, in order to connect and shed light on these territories, their resources and services: young people who want to settle down or return, families starting fresh in a rural environment, companies and entities beginning new projects…
This platform offers resources associated with the daily life of people and communities. Examples include: housing, work and entrepreneurship, health, sports, education, leisure, culture and the environment.
There will be a periodic extension of informative contents, number of resources and territorial scope.
In addition to Rural living, the Odisseu project has allowed the development of other actions targeted to young people and rural businesses. It is worth mentioning several examples:

Virtual space aimed to facilitate the contact between young professionals and companies in the Leader territories to boost economic growth and employment.
Return addresses young people with a university degree or professional training certificate who are seeking employment opportunities in rural areas and with companies located in these regions.
Companies can consult LinkedIn’s professional profiles of young people looking for work in a region.

Practicum aids
Support to encourage the stay of university students from paid internships of their studies into rural companies, in order to promote business competitiveness, as well as the return and establishment of this group in rural areas.
